Introducing Makmak

The Makmak pattern captures the spirit of a Polish summer in bold, graphic style—alive with vibrant field poppies and playful ladybugs. Though delicate in appearance, the poppy (mak) often springs up in the unlikeliest places—even cracks in pavement or construction sites—making it a quiet symbol of resilience and endurance. The ladybug, on the other hand, carries the promise of good fortune. In a cherished Polish custom, children gently blow on a ladybug while saying, “Biedroneczko, leć do nieba, przynieś mi kawałek chleba” (“Ladybug, fly up to heaven and bring me back a piece of bread”). Rooted in folklore and strength, Makmak is a timeless but modern tribute to perseverance with hope of bright days ahead.
